Generations Testimonies
Coming to River of Life has completely changed my life, and I'm so thankful for that! The Generations Ministry is always such a blessing to me, and most recently, Pastor Nancy spoke to us about the giants in our lives. As she was speaking about bad giants like fear, anger, and depression, I realized that the giants I struggle with are the same giants that my mother and grandmother also struggle with. Those giants won't have my daughters! I'm so glad God has brought me to a place where those bad giants are being replaced with giants of the Lord like faith, kindness, and purpose. I'd still be wandering around without a purpose if it weren't for Pastors Mike and Nancy, and I encourage every woman to find her way to a ladies' luncheon. God is moving mightily in this place! Pastor Nancy’s words brought Hope and Freedom, through her God showed me that I didn’t need to fear or freak out. My children are “normal human beings” as she put it. I recently found myself asking the question “who are you” to one of my children because their actions were “not the daughter I raised” Through the word and her humor Pastor Nancy brought forth a message that spoke to my heart and brought a peace that was so needed in my life. I just wanted to say what a powerful message Pastor Nancy preached yesterday... I wasn't able to go to Brunch but I had this feeling I needed to be there for her message afterwards. Her message was so true and clear I'm sure many of us felt she was talking to us. What happened to me after I got home, after that, was just as amazing. I went outside and for no reason, started pulling out weeds? A few seconds later I realized that's how our life is! Most of us would like to have a nice looking lawn but these weeds keep coming out and sometimes we don't have time, are not in the mood, or are too tired to spend time pulling them out, plus they are so tough. So we might end up calling someone to help us or just take care of this problem! I thought this was just like my life if my time with God is not enough how can I get rid of these weeds, and if I need help, or guidance there you are Pastor Nancy and Prayer Warriors, you are like the lawn company that comes out! Pastor Nancy, I want to thank you for your wisdom and the truth filled message at the Ladies Luncheon. Even as I listened to it again today everything becomes more clear. Our ladies luncheon was phenomenal. We go through some things in our life that sometimes we do not know the answer. I came to the ladies luncheon and Pastor Nancy had spoken some truth that completely change my thinking. God has used her to speak about attitudes and how we should react to the world. On the side, she had clarified to me when do we sin if someone had hurt us. I thanked God for our Pastors for helping us see especially myself how I should walk in this fallen world. Charie L.
